The Early Career Network is a group of young AIESEP scholars with an interest in topics related to early career development and in particular developing skills for effective scholarship in physical education and sport pedagogy.

In Edinburgh, the Early Career Network will organise a pre-congress seminar afternoon around two contemporary topics:

1) How to submit a manuscript for publication

2) How to effectively communicate research within oral presentations.  

Professor Mark Byra, who is the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education will share his knowledge about submitting a manuscript for publication.  Topics to be discussed will include: the selection of a journal; key points for the development a stronger written product; steps of the review process; feedback from those involved in the review process; and references to read to further understand the ins and outs of submitting a manuscript.

Dr. Vicky Goodyear from the University of Birmingham, UK will also share her expertise in developing effective oral/podium presentations. This session will include tips for constructing effective powerpoint presentations and how to orate to maximize communication and impact.
